Evacuation orders have been given to the Australian city of Sydney due to the severe floods that are occurring. Forecasters are warning of more severe weather in the coming hours after large parts of the New South Wales Coast were lashed by heavy rain on Sunday.

Emergency services have carried out evacuations and dozens of rescues as the Sydney area has already experienced four times its normal rainfall for July.

Locals say that this is a one in a thousand years of rain and are asking themselves where does it stop as its not even sparing anything in its way. Many property have already been claimed and they are stranded.

Sarah Clark who is following the developments from Brisbane says that evacuation orders have escalated from seventy earlier on Monday to seventy four that have been put in place making a total of 274 evacuation orders and 32,000 people are affected.

Communities have been cut off from each other due to swallowed bridges, roads and infrastructure.
