A 25 year old Jayland Walker was gunned down by the the police on the 27th of June, 2022 who claimed that the officers had attempted to stop him for traffic violation when Walker refused to stop for the officers. This forced the officers to initiate a pursuit for his vehicle where he got out and ran on foot.
The Akron police officers released over 90 rounds of ammo onto his body as he attempted to give himself in. In todays world, racism is still seen as many claim that soon or later the incident will be erased and put under the rug because he was a black folk, this is witnessed when zero bullets were fired at an armed mass murderer at Highland park but several rounds emptied and reloaded to Walker in Akron.
During the protests that were ongoing with the motion of ‘black lives matter’, the Akron police pushed the narrative of violent protests to media which were held by the people but non were witnessed to being carried out. This prompted the police to carryout unjustified massive arrests which included the sweeping up of Walker’s family who were still grieving for their son’s lose.
This has led many people throughout the world asking questions whether the police has a justifiable job in the killing of its civilians.
