Richard Russel a 28 year old baggage handler at Seattle SEA-TAC Airport stole a commercial passenger plane and later crashed it.
Cameras caught him passing through airport security, he used a tow vehicle to get to the Alaskan Airlines Horizon plane on the runway where he jumped onto the cockpit with workers oblivious to what was happening.
He later takes off and performs aerial stunts. Fighter jets were released to track him while the Airport Traffic Control tried to get him to land, he responded by saying he did not want to.
He was later seen intentionally crashing the plane into an Island 30 miles away dying in the crash.
FBI agents say that it was not part of any wide criminal activity or terrorism attempt of any sort as Russel acted a lone but why he did it is still a mystery.
