Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe shot in the chest.

The former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot in the chest today morning at around 11:30AM LT. Shinzo was giving a campaign speech near a train station in the city of Nara when he was shot twice from behind.

Their proved to be no vital signs of life when he collapsed to the ground. He was airlifted and rushed to hospital where the doctors say he is in critical condition and are trying to save his life.

The suspect was a 41 year old who made no attempt to escape after his shooting using what seemed to be a home made fire arm. He was apprehended without putting up a fight. Abe was the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of Japan. He resigned in 2020 due to health reasons but remained as an influential figure in Japanese politics.

The attack came as a shock to all people due to how strict gun laws are enforced in Japan, which has the strictest gun laws in the world.
